Authorities confirmed the arrest of Rodrigo Antonio MR for a case of sexual abuse against two minors that occurred in 2013 in Sincelejo, Sucre. The arrest took place in San Jacinto del Cauca, Bolívar, following a court order that had been in effect for years.
The children, ages 7 and 9, reported the incidents to the ICBF (Colombian Institute of Family Welfare), although their mother denied them. However, medical and psychological reports supported the accusations and allowed the process to continue.
The arrested man will serve a 144-month prison sentence. Police reiterated their call to report these cases and to always listen to children.
