CHANGES IN THE PENIS AFTER 60 YEARS THAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW
The passage of time does not forgive, and the human body undergoes transformations that, in many cases, take it by surprise. One of the least talked about topics —but that generates great curiosity— are the changes in the penis after age 60. What really happens to this organ over time? What is normal and what is not? Below, we explain the most common changes that you may not know about.

1. Decrease in size
One of the most notable changes is one slight reduction in the length and girth of the penis. This does not mean a radical loss, but you can notice a decrease of between 1 and 2 centimeters. This variation is related to the reduction of testosterone, the accumulation of fatty tissue at the base of the penis and one less elasticity of tissues.
2. Less firm and less frequent erections
After age 60, erections tend to be less rigid and more difficult to maintain. This is due to one slower blood circulation, as well as the loss of muscle tone in the pelvic region. Additionally, the response to sexual desire may be slower, but it does not go away.
3. Changes in sensitivity
Many men notice one decrease in glans sensitivity, which can make sexual stimulation require more time or greater intensity. This can influence both arousal and climax, but it also allows for a longer duration of sexual intercourse.
4. Different ejaculations

The ejaculations tend to change with age. They can become less intense, with a lower volume of semen, and even with a lower outlet pressure. This is completely normal and is usually linked to reduced prostate function.
5. Changes in shape or curvature
Some men notice that their penis begins to show one slight curvature, something that can be a consequence of small internal scars accumulated over the years (a condition known as Peyronie’s disease). If the curvature causes pain or makes sexual intercourse difficult, the urologist should be consulted.
6. Retraction of the scrotum and testicular fall
The scrotum loses tone with age, making the testicles appear more drooping. In turn, there may be one slight retraction of the penis in a flaccid state, especially if there is increased abdominal fat.
Can it be avoided or reversed?
Although aging is natural, many of these changes can be slowed down or minimized adopting healthy habits:
-
Balanced diet
-
Regular exercise (especially of the pelvic floor)
-
Avoid tobacco and alcohol
-
Mantener una vida sexual activa
-
Control médico regular con un urólogo
