A large commercial warehouse fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in an industrial area, sending thick black smoke into the sky and forcing the evacuation of nearby businesses and homes.

According to local fire officials, the blaze started at approximately 2:45 p.m. and rapidly intensified due to the presence of highly flammable materials believed to include textiles, plastics, and stored electronic goods. Within a short time, flames spread across much of the structure, and several loud explosions were reported by people in the surrounding area.

Witnesses described heavy smoke visible from several kilometers away. Workers in neighboring facilities were ordered to evacuate as a precaution.

Emergency services deployed more than 80 firefighters to the scene. Crews battled intense heat and hazardous conditions for several hours before bringing most of the fire under control by around 7:30 p.m. Specialized equipment and aerial assistance were also used to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading.

No fatalities have been reported at this time. However, seven workers were transported to local hospitals for treatment of smoke inhalation and minor burn injuries. All are reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities have cordoned off the affected area while investigators work to determine the cause of the fire. Early assessments suggest a possible electrical malfunction or chemical reaction inside the warehouse, though officials emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing. Residents have been advised to avoid the area due to lingering smoke that may contain harmful substances.

Local officials have pledged support for affected workers and nearby residents. A temporary shelter has been established for those displaced by the incident, and relief efforts are being coordinated through community organizations.
