Texas Woman Gives Birth After Alleged Delay at Hospital

A viral TikTok shared by a Texas mother shows her daughter, Karrie Jones, in visible distress while waiting to be admitted for labor at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas. The video has sparked widespread outrage online.

According to the footage and the family’s account:

• Karrie was kept in the waiting room for over 30 minutes while staff asked admission questions, despite being in active labor.

• She gave birth just 12 minutes after being moved from the waiting area.

• The mother’s video captures Jones in extreme pain, attempting to deliver while still in a wheelchair.

The family criticized hospital staff, alleging that a “deathly charge nurse” prioritized paperwork over patient care. Questions were raised about racial disparities in treatment, as Jones’ mother asked if all patients are treated this way or only Black patients.

The hospital responded with a statement, saying it is reviewing the situation to understand what occurred and ensure proper patient care.
