Boost knee cartilage with this simple but powerful drink

Cartilage is a flexible, sturdy tissue that cushions your bones and joints. It helps absorb shocks so your body can move smoothly without injury.

My Cleveland Clinic states that “Cartilage at the end of your bones reduces friction and prevents them from rubbing together when you use your joints. It’s also the main tissue in some parts of your body and gives them their structure and shape.”

This particular drink is believed to help with the pain in your knees by protecting and renewing the cartilage, and the good thing is that it is simple and easy to make.

What you need in order to prepare this famous and much-loved drink are two super powerful ingredients, turmeric and ginger.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric (or a small slice of fresh root)
  • ½ tsp grated fresh ginger (or ground ginger)
  • Optional: squeeze of lemon or 1 tsp honey for taste

How to Make It:

  1. Boil water.
  2. Add turmeric and ginger.
  3. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Strain (if fresh).
  5. Add lemon or honey for taste and sip warm.

Drink one cup daily, either in the morning or in the evening.

Keeping your knees healthy also requires some lifestyle changes — in case you haven’t incorporated them in your daily life so far — such as staying active and walk or stretch, consume joint-friendly foods like mega-3-rich fish, leafy greens, and bone broth, stay hydrated, and rest well.
