Fans spot ‘catheter’ in Trump’s pants and fear for his health

Is Donald Trump Wearing a Catheter? Social Media Speculation Explained

Donald Trump’s health has often been a topic of public interest, especially since his first term in the White House. While he has frequently questioned the health and fitness of political rivals like Joe Biden, concerns about his own well-being have been steadily growing — and now, online speculation is focused on an unusual question: Is Trump wearing a catheter?

Concerns Resurface Amid Second Term and Public Appearances

Since beginning his second term, Trump has faced numerous controversies — from renewed immigration enforcement in Los Angeles to diplomatic tensions with Denmark. But beyond the headlines, questions about his physical health are increasingly making waves online.

During the 2024 campaign against Kamala Harris, she publicly shared her medical records. Trump, on the other hand, declined to do so, although he repeatedly assured the public that he was in excellent mental and physical shape.

At 78 years old, Trump is the oldest president to begin a second term. A recent medical report from White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella stated that Trump was in good health, weighing 224 pounds at a height of 75 inches, with normal results from heart, throat, eye, and ear exams.

The report also noted that Trump underwent a colonoscopy in 2024, during which a benign polyp and diverticulitis (a colon inflammation) were discovered. A follow-up procedure is scheduled for 2027.

Other disclosed health details included:

  • Use of cholesterol and cardiac medications

  • A topical skin treatment

  • history of bilateral cataract surgery

Dr. Barbabella concluded that Trump remains in “robust” physical and mental condition, attributing his stability to an active lifestyle.

Trump himself stated after the exam, “I took a cognitive test. I got every answer right. I did tests on the heart, and a bunch of others.”

Viral Photo Sparks Speculation

Despite the reassuring medical report, a viral photo from June 9, 2025, reignited concern. At a UFC event, Trump posed with new women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison, who placed her championship belt around his waist. The image soon went viral across X, Facebook, and TikTok — not because of the belt, but because of a line running down his right pant leg.

Social media users quickly speculated that Trump might be wearing a Foley catheter, a medical device used to help drain urine from the bladder. Some posts claimed he appeared to have leg braces, and pointed out bruising on his right hand, suggesting possible infusion therapy or even signs of a neurological condition like Parkinson’s disease.

One viral comment read:

“That’s not a crease — that’s tubing. Every step he takes sounds like the sloshing of a warm Capri Sun.”

However, others were quick to push back:

“That’s a pant crease. Catheters aren’t usually visible like that unless under specific medical conditions. Walking patients wouldn’t typically use Foley catheters day-to-day.”

What Is a Foley Catheter?

According to the Cleveland Clinic, a Foley catheter is a medical device used to drain urine for patients who cannot urinate naturally due to illness, surgery, or injury. It is inserted into the bladder and typically connected to a drainage bag. Use outside of a medical facility is typically rare unless the patient has significant health issues.

Official Response from the White House

To address the growing speculation, fact-checking outlet Snopes reached out to the White House for comment.

Spokesperson Steven Cheung strongly denied the rumors, calling them baseless and politically motivated:

“The President has been the most transparent president in history, and the recent medical report clearly shows he is in peak condition.”

Cheung added that the accusations were being pushed by “demented individuals hiding behind social media,” and accused the media of giving them an unearned spotlight. He went on to criticize what he called a long-standing double standard in media coverage between Trump and Biden.

While the speculation around a catheter remains unproven and based solely on a viral photo, the official medical record and White House statements assert that Trump is in good health.

What do you think? Are these claims valid concerns or just more political noise?
