Teenager runs over woman sunbathing on Veracruz beach with ATV

Witnesses say the 13-year-old girl fled after losing control of her vehicle and running over Yoselin.

A woman lost her life after being  run over by an ATV  on Chachalacas beach, in Úrsulo Galván,  Veracruz .

The victim,  Yoselin  Castillo Soto, 31 years old and originally from Xalapa, was  resting on the sand  when an out-of-control ATV  hit her , causing her  instant death  at we know about the accident

The accident occurred on one of Veracruz’s most popular beaches.  According to initial reports, a 13-year-old girl was driving an ATV at high speed along the shoreline  when, in a moment of inattention, she lost control of the vehicle and violently struck Yoselin, who was on vacation.

Emergency services arrived quickly at the scene, but could only confirm the  woman’s death  .

It was initially reported that the victim was taken to a nearby hospital, but it was later clarified that  he died at the scene  due to the severity of the impact.

Witnesses stated that the teenager , who appeared to be about 13 years old,  fled the scene after the collision without offering assistance to the victim. This has sparked outrage among the local community, which is demanding stricter regulations on the use of ATVs on the beaches.

Business owners involved in renting these vehicles confirmed that  the ATV was not rented , but  belonged to a private individual , which complicates the identification of those responsible.

Authorities in Veracruz have reported that they are investigating the case  and  will apply appropriate sanctions. They will also reinforce security measures at beaches and tourist areas to prevent similar incidents.

The victim has been identified

Yoselin Castillo Soto was an employee of the  Veracruz Public Security Secretariat  and lived in the Las Fuentes neighborhood in Xalapa.

Her death has caused shock among friends and family. José Luis Barradas, a friend of Yoselin, posted a  message on social media  lamenting her passing:

“Your youth was stolen from you at 31 years old, you left us, due to the recklessness of a minor on a quad bike, you will always be in my heart and in my memory.”

Another friend,  Marce Ruiz, also shared her sorrow : “You will always be in my heart, my friend. I will always remember the get-togethers, the barbecues, the Three Kings’ Day cake, when we went to Hakuna. You will always be with me.”
